The challenge
With an October 2017 date for a planned phase out of their existing Micromaster drives, Schaeffler had an idea of what they wanted but came across an obstacle.
They identified a skills shortage in their Engineering and Maintenance departments regarding the desired Siemens Sinamics range of drives. Without detailed knowledge of the replacement, they would either have to postpone the update or risk damaging their production.
Identifying the solution
Using our status as a Siemens Approved Partner, we were able to assist Schaeffler by arranging a workshop with Pat Hayton from Siemens. Together we delivered an overview of the range using G120 rigs and presented the Startdrive software package.
